Each year in conjunction with student-led conferences in the spring, the elementary art department puts on an art show. Each child selects at least one of their own pieces to put in the show. This year the art is up in the foyer.
The art projects on these panels were made by 8-11-year-olds.
I had to shoot a closeup of this one since it has both blossoms and gold finches – or maybe they are orioles.
I suspect the following was made during one of the artist-in-residence visits. It was an aboriginal artist this year.
Although this one includes a mask and some handmade paper, you are missing the more 3D pieces. They were up in the gym.
Staging the art show takes a huge amount of time on the part of the art teachers. I hope they get all sorts of great feedback from families about it. I am envious that our students here have art every third day. In my district back home it eliminated due to budget cuts many years ago.
